Browser extension support

Help for the VeloPhex Browser Automation extension for Chrome and Edge.

Email support About the extension

Check the connection

Click the VeloPhex icon in the browser toolbar. The popup shows the connection state and, at the bottom, the extension and host versions. An orange ! on the icon means the extension is not connected.

What the popup says, and what to do

  • "Install the VeloPhex browser host, then restart the browser." The extension needs the VeloPhex Browser Host, which the VeloPhex Studio and VeloPhex Robot installers place on the computer. Install or repair VeloPhex, then close every window of the browser and open it again.
  • "The browser host refused this extension. Reinstall the VeloPhex browser host." The VeloPhex Browser Host on this computer does not accept this copy of the extension. Install the current VeloPhex Studio or Robot, which accepts the extension from the Chrome Web Store and Edge Add-ons, then restart the browser.
  • "Can't reach the VeloPhex browser host." Select Retry. If it persists, restart the browser; if it still persists, repair the VeloPhex installation.
  • "The extension isn't responding." Select Retry, or turn the extension off and on again on the browser's extensions page (chrome://extensions or edge://extensions).

Check from VeloPhex Studio

In Studio, open Settings → Integrations → Browser extensions. Each browser is checked on its own and shows whether the extension is ready; Diagnose explains what is missing.

Private (Incognito / InPrivate) windows

The extension works only in private windows that an automation opened itself, and only after you allow it there: the popup shows Private windows off · Allow, or switch on Allow in Incognito (Chrome) or Allow in InPrivate (Edge) on the extension's details page. Private windows you open yourself are never automated.

Contact support

E-mail support@velophex.com with the browser and its version, the line the popup shows (with the extension and host versions), and what the automation was doing. Do not send passwords or customer data.
